Agenda Item 35
Public Questions
Question from Mr Adrian Hill
Brighton & Hove has some of
the worst air quality in the UK. However the city has
some of the most relaxed regulations on emissions.
Studies show that ⅓ of all asthma cases in cities similar to
ours are caused by air pollution. Air pollution is also a
significant cause of heart disease, lung cancer, diabetes,
developmental problems in children and dementia.
Could the NHS do more to request that the council implement air
quality improvements effectively without delay?
